Some of you may know the name
Windyridge in connection with Grevilleas.
We started with two Dorper cross ewes and
a ram back in 2010
We are now breeding both Dorper-cross and
Meet Fergus, he's one of our fullblood Dorper rams.
He was acquired from
Winrae Dorpers on the 30th of March 2012.
Lambs are great to see and have. They are forever playing and running around in the paddock.
All the children that visit love them.
It's always nice to see the ewes grazing in the paddock.
A healthy and happy flock of breeding ewes is what it's all about.
We moved to our rural property "Windyridge" in 1997,
where we established and now operate a small nursery business
producing mainly native tubestock (specializing in Grevilleas).
We now supply our plants both retail and wholesale to local and interstate customers.
For many years the nursery has been our main business and main source of income.
In 2010 a friend introduced us to the Dorper breed of sheep,
with in a month or two we had our first Dorpers grazing in our paddocks.
We are now slowly gaining experience and confidence in breeding Cross and fullblood Dorpers.
My wife Catherine and myself originate from rural England, I was born on a farm in Cheshire
so I am no stranger to farming practises and responsibilities.
Catherine's early years were spent working in research, this has given her a keen instinct
for quality in everything she is involved in.
We keep a close eye on our sheep and we're constantly observing their condition.
It's our aim to produce quality Cross and fullblood Dorpers for both local and interstate customers.
